I made my mom a terrarium for Mother's Day. Since she is also part of our TWD Family of course it was The Walking Dead themed. These are no fairy houses; these are walkers in their natural habitat.
I bought the supplies from Walmart in the plant and crafting section, and I had a wonderful helper. I put the rocks in the bottom for drainage and texture.
Next, I put in the soil, and then the succulent plants. I picked the ones I found the most visually interesting. I also put a "hill" in the middle to keep it from looking flat.
I went found a clean, soft paint brush to brush off some the dirt from the plants, and started to lay the moss on the dirt and around the plants.
I used the other mosses to add color, create texture, and hide the gaps.
I took the McFarlane toys I ordered off of Amazon, and had my dear hubs cut dowel rods to glue on the bottom of their feet.
I told the hubs where I wanted my plastic friends to stand to take out the crispy walker. He made starter holes through the moss and in they stayed! I kept the walker habitat about a week and spritzed it every day with water. By time I gave it to mom the moss was laying almost seamlessly and the plants were thriving. For care and upkeep, I told her to spritz it every three days or so.
I made this inside, because it was raining quite heavily outside. There was quite a clean up afterward.
The only question I have now is what in the name of Negan do I do with a beaten up Glenn head?
